Experience Exeter Summer

At Exeter Summer, the focus is on learning through preparation, careful listening, well-considered discussion contributions and collaboration. Courses are taught by experienced faculty using Harkness, a philosophy based on student-led group discussion. This way students develop the ability to direct conversations and their own learning.

Summer students enjoy full access to our beautiful campus and state-of-the-art facilities. The 673-acre campus Academy is surrounded by fields, forests and a quaint New England town just 10 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and one hour north of Boston. Afternoons are devoted to a wide range of sports and our extensive performing arts program. Rounding out the fun are activities such as movies and games on the quads, a talent show and excursions off campus.

The Harkness method is very dynamic, I really appreciate the way that everyone has to participate. It keeps us active, focused and teaches us a lot.
